The Profit Game: can you double a firm's profit every quarter?
The Profit Game is a free business simulation in your browser. You run Northbeam Advisory, a fictional consulting firm of six consultants, for one year. At each of the four board meetings, the board asks for twice the profit of the quarter before. Before every decision, the twin plays 100 futures of each option, so you see the odds before you choose.

What is The Profit Game?
A one-year season at the head of Northbeam Advisory. The firm bills $68,000 a month in retainers and made $75,000 of profit last quarter. Each quarter you set the price and scope of the offer, decide whether to hire, how much work to give AI agents, how to find new clients, and what to do when your largest client comes up for renewal. Then the quarter plays out week by week: leads, calls, proposals, signatures, churn, invoices and payments.
Northbeam is fictional. The engine is not: it is the same week-by-week flow engine that AI Jungle runs on its own books, certified by replaying its past within set error bands, and the engine a digital twin of your firm is built on. The game world only stages what the engine returns.
- 4quarters, four board meetings
- ×2the profit the board asks for, every quarter

What do you learn by playing it?
Doubling profit every quarter is close to impossible on purpose. The game shows which levers move profit, which ones only move risk, and how sure you can be before you pull them.
What a higher fee costs you
A higher price lifts the margin on every hour and lowers the share of proposals you win. How much depends on how price-sensitive your buyers are, which you do not know at the start.
Where the team runs out of hours
Sell more than six consultants can deliver and clients notice. The twin counts every week the team spends over capacity, so a busy quarter shows its real price.
When a new hire pays for itself
A new consultant needs weeks to ramp up while the salary runs from day one. The futures show whether the pipeline fills those hours before the cash runs thin.
How much work to hand over
Agents can take part of the delivery. Their real effect is one of the facts the twin learns as you play, so the odds sharpen quarter after quarter.
What one big client is worth
Your largest client renews mid-year, and one partner brings much of your new business. The game shows how much of the year hangs on each of them.
Questions players ask
Is The Profit Game free?
Yes. It runs in the browser with no account and no download. At the end of the year, an optional form lets you get in touch about a twin of your own firm.
How long does a game take?
About 6 minutes for the Boardroom mode, four board meetings and a decision at each. The MBA season takes about 20 minutes and adds a graded case per quarter and a profit forecast. A 2-minute demo lets the twin play on its own.
Is Northbeam Advisory a real firm?
No. Northbeam, its clients and its numbers are invented. The engine that computes the weeks is the one a firm twin runs on.
Is the game in French?
Not yet: the game is in English. This page also exists in French.
Then play your own firm.
Each Northbeam world hides a few facts the twin has to learn while you play. A twin of your own firm measures them from your data: your buyers' price sensitivity, your channels, your churn, your capacity. It replays your last 12 months before it advises anything.
