Short answer

Which are the best digital twin companies in 2026?

The best digital twin company depends on what you want to twin. For factories and products, the reference vendors are Siemens, Dassault Systèmes, Ansys (now part of Synopsys) and NVIDIA Omniverse as the simulation engine. For buildings and infrastructure, Bentley Systems and Autodesk. For cloud plumbing, Microsoft Azure Digital Twins and AWS IoT TwinMaker. For a twin of a whole organization, Celonis and SAP Signavio lead Gartner's first Magic Quadrant on the category (July 2026). For simulating people and customers, Simile and Aaru. None of them targets owner-led service firms of 5 to 50 people, which is the gap we work in.

Disclosure. AI Digital Twin Company publishes this list and appears in it, in the last category, clearly labelled "(our service)". No vendor paid to be listed. We opened every source on 10 October 2026, and again on 11 October 2026 when we added four industrial suppliers; "typical buyer" and company size fit are our own reading of each vendor's positioning, not sourced facts.
Matrix

Which digital twin companies sell to small, mid-size and large firms?

Rows are what you want to twin, from physical things at the top to human decisions at the bottom. Columns are the buyer size each vendor usually sells to, in our reading. Names after "also" can do the row outside their main category, mostly as build-it-yourself platforms. The finder below uses the same rule. Tap a row name to jump to its vendors, or a name to open its entry.

Under 50 people, the only twins on sale here are building tools and our service. Dashed names come after "also": their main category is another row. IBM Maximo, listed with the industrial suppliers, is asset management rather than a twin, so it is not placed.
Finder

Which digital twin company fits your project?

Pick what you want to twin, your company size and whether you need a published price. The finder lists every vendor on this page that passes all your filters: specialists first, then vendors that can also do it outside their main category, the same split as the matrix. If fewer than two specialists pass, it adds the closest vendors and names the filters each misses. Matching entries get a teal outline below. IBM Maximo is left out, since it is not a twin.

Example: a 30-person property firm that wants a building twin with a published price has three vendors that pass all three filters: Bentley iTwin, Autodesk Tandem and Matterport. The matrix above holds the same information.

Category 4

Who builds a digital twin of an organization?

A digital twin of an organization (DTO) models how a company runs its business rather than how a machine runs. Gartner defines it as a dynamic software model that relies on operational and contextual data to understand how an organization operationalizes its business model, responds to changes, deploys resources and delivers customer value. On 27 July 2026 Gartner published its first Magic Quadrant for DTO platforms, with 18 vendors assessed. Celonis, SAP, ARIS and GBTEC each confirm a Leader position (GBTEC). Read our guide to the digital twin of an organization for the method.

Is there a digital twin company for small service firms?

We looked and found none besides us, a service line of AI Jungle. The DTO platforms above are sold to large enterprises. Twin1, which raised a 20 million dollar seed in August 2026, builds twins of individual lawyers for large law firms, not twins of the firm (Legal IT Insider).

20AI Digital Twin Company (our service)

Pick it if you lead a service firm of 5 to 50 people and face one heavy decision, or a sale. 5 to 50 people Published build price

Details and sources
Twins
Owner-led service firms of 5 to 50 people: consulting, executive search, wealth management, interim management, and venues that sell time slots. The twin follows mandates, people and cash, and it is playable like a management game.
Method
A flow engine computes; AI agents only play human decisions; the twin must replay your last 12 months within ±10% on revenue and throughput before it advises anything (how a firm twin works).
Typical buyer
Founders and managing partners facing a heavy decision, or preparing to sell.
Public prices
Yes. Builds from $55,555; larger scopes, maintenance and partnership are priced on a call. Try the free Twin Lite simulator first.

Choosing

How do you choose a digital twin company?

  1. Name the object first. A pump, a building, a supply chain and a 20-person firm need different vendors (see the matrix). Most disappointing projects bought a factory tool for an organization question.
  2. Ask how the twin proves itself. A serious vendor replays a past period and gives its error band before it predicts anything.
  3. Check where AI sits. Language models are good at playing human choices and bad at arithmetic. If an LLM produces your numbers, walk away.
  4. Count the data you really have. Sensor-heavy twins need sensors. An organization twin needs event logs from CRM, projects and invoicing.
  5. Price the whole project. Licences are only part of it. Integration, calibration and the time of your own people usually cost more.
What should an industrial buyer prepare before asking for a quote?

Vendors in categories 1 to 3 quote case by case. Send the same eight-line brief to two or three of them and compare the answers line by line.

  1. The decision: one sentence on what the twin must help you decide, such as a line layout, a maintenance plan or a capital investment.
  2. The boundary: which assets, lines or sites are in, and which are out for the first phase.
  3. Your data inventory: sensors and historians, CAD or BIM models, ERP, MES and maintenance systems, with who owns each and how often it refreshes.
  4. The proof you expect: the replay of a past period, with its error band, before any forecast is used.
  5. The licence model: per asset, per user, metered or enterprise, and what makes the bill grow as the twin scales.
  6. Ownership and exit: who owns the model and its data, and in which open formats you can export them if you leave.
  7. Your own time: hours from your engineers and operators for integration and calibration, priced as part of the project.
  8. The vendor's future: after the deals above, who will sell and support the product, and on which roadmap.
Costs

How much does a digital twin cost in 2026?

Public prices exist only at the platform level; our ranking of digital twin software lists each one with its source. Here is every public price on this page, from the cheapest entry point up. How big is the digital twin market?

Estimates disagree, so quote them with their publisher. MarketsandMarkets puts it at 21.14 billion dollars in 2025, growing to 149.81 billion in 2030 (MarketsandMarkets). Global Market Insights says 32 billion in 2025 and 323 billion in 2035 (GMI).

FAQ

Digital twin companies: quick answers

Who is the father of digital twins?

Michael Grieves is usually credited: he presented the concept in 2002 at the product lifecycle management (PLM) center of the University of Michigan. The term "digital twin" then appeared in a NASA technology roadmap in 2010, as a NASA presentation by John Vickers recounts (NASA).

What are the four types of digital twins?

IBM lists component twins, asset twins, system or unit twins and process twins, from the smallest part to a whole production process (IBM). A digital twin of an organization sits one level above process twins.

What is another name for a digital twin?

Dassault Systèmes says "virtual twin". Gartner uses "digital twin of an organization" (DTO) for company-level twins. You will also see "virtual replica" and, for people, "synthetic customer" or "AI twin".

What is the difference between a digital twin and AI?

A digital twin is a model of something real, kept in sync with data. AI is a technique that may run inside it, for example to predict a failure or to play a customer's decision. Many twins use no AI at all.

Which digital twin company is best for a small business?

For a building or a shop floor, Matterport and Autodesk Tandem have free tiers. For the business itself, the organization platforms above are built for large enterprises; a firm of 5 to 50 people is the case we built AI Digital Twin Company for.

Method: list compiled on 10 October 2026 from vendor pages, press releases and filings opened that day; ABB, AVEVA, Rockwell Automation and IBM Maximo added on 11 October 2026 from sources opened that day, and the Simio pricing line corrected to its current trial offer. Vendors are grouped by what they twin, numbered for reading, not ranked against each other. Corrections: contact@aidigitaltwincompany.com.
